I can see Andrew's point, although maybe back-to-front sharpness 'may' have resulted in an odd appearence, due to telephoto compression effects in this instance. As usual i am probably talking out of the back of my head, but i like the shot.
An excellent composition and what great eye contact. The depth of field is a non-issue for me, the shot is sharp where it needs to be, right on the eye. The water colour makes an ideal compliment to the birds colours.
I often try for this type of shot with snoozing birds on water but very rarely does it work out as well as this shot has.
Hello Dave
My first thought was a bit tight in the frame, but I have revisited this a few times and my eye is drawn straight to his, so , on second thoughts, I like it as is.
Best wishes
Phil
