Not posted for a while, but I have been shooting a shed-load of images, This Great crested Grebe was struggling with a fish, Roach, I think, and the fish did not like the prospect of being eaten and was thrashing its tail in the water.
Taken in the Denver sluice area of Norfolk, not far from Welney.

Canon EOS 1Ds MkII + 600mm f4 IS + 1.4X and processed with Breeze browser pro, slight levels curves and contrast adjustments.

Nicely taken Nigel,

Fine piece of action/behaviour, and the water droplets are the icing on the cake.

Hi Nigel

A good action shot, especially the water droplets jumping up from the fish.

I am not so keen on the overall composition. The bird is a bit low in the water and with the low shooting angle as well it is a bit lost amongst the ripples on the water.

Still a good behavioural shot and better than any of my GC Grebe images.

cheers

Sean

Hi Nigel

I'm with Sean re not seeing enough of the bird as this shot is a bit special. That said I really like it and in addition to the water droplets it helps that you can see the eye of the fish. Great capture!
