You get hooked on these guys I found, scurrying over the mossey ground looking for seeds etc and with a little bit more character than some garden birds.
Perhaps not the most flattering of profiles, but the slight head turn I felt is more appealing than a straight forward side on pedestrian POV. The 'white specs' on the feathers are water droplets, typical April, overcast with light showers.

You must have been really low for this, Steve. I think it is the first time I have looked up at a bird this small. Lovely pose, great feather detail, and dof field very well controlled.
Over the shoulder shots are my favourites. They allow you to get good eye contact from one eye. If it was facing you and looking at you, the beak would be virtually invisible and most birds look decidedly odd face on. It adds dynamism to the shot too imo. Makes you feel as if something is happening and doesn't look so 'stuffed'
Anyway this is spot on Steve; it's all been said. eric

Love the pose and POV with a good natural setting.
Love the over-the-shoulder look and the green setting.
You can't beat these low, intimate viewpoints.
