You have to laugh !
Mallard
Not my type of shot but there we are
Sat in pool hide no 3 for four hours yesterday and got one not very good visit by a Whitethroat, and then this !
I was just about to chuck a brick at the pair when I suddenly realised it was a new species for my bathing pool list . So I took a few shots and then chucked the brick !
Don't forget- this is on a pool 4 ft X 6ft !

Thanks Mark. There is a bit but it puts the head over to the left too far I thought.
Cheers

A little tight in the frame for me John, however I guess you have your reasons for a square format rather than the more 'traditional' version. Nice to have a bit of interaction too, preening.

Well thats another one checked off the list I guess.

Never look a gift horse in the mouth John, very nice. A friend of ours has a pair of mallards on the pond in her front garden every year. It is 3ft long and 2ft wide, so yours would be positively spacious to them. It's surprising where they hang out at this time of the year.
I assume this was the new species you mentioned, what's the total?.

Eric
On the pools with hides built especially for the purpose, the Mallard makes it 60 species.

There can't be anybody else in the country with a collection to match that John and yet still most of us use food rather than water to attract them in. I must get digging.
