I have been trying for some decent hare shots for a while and at last it seems to be coming together. This hare popped through the hedge right in front of my hide and settled down for a thorough wash and brush-up, but never once took his eye off me. I suspect he realised that I am not quite as quick over short distances as he is.
Hi Eric, I really like this because of it's simplicity, which is never easy to achieve. Being on a slight slant too just adds to it. Not sure if it needs less above or less below just to break up the central position height wise?
Cracking shot! Incredibly difficult to see these against a brown field. Yesterday I had a laughable experience of watching a young deer get chased by a herd of cows. It jumped over a fence and startled a brown hare which fled with the deer in pursuit! Wouldn't have seen the hare otherwise!
As you already know, I love hares and agree with you that I could probably spend the rest of my life photographing them. The is a beautifully sharp shot of the subject, and I think you need that space at the bottom that the hare appears to be moving into.
