Totally possible
Last weekend I took my 10 yr old and 12 yr old to find North Harper Creek Falls in Avery County for the first time. They were walking ahead of me and I could hear their exclimations of "WOW this is so cool" when they spotted the falls-all this fun and they didn't even need batteries or a tv!

Good for you! I hope they continue to think nature is "so cool".

I like this composition. The water seems to flow right from the falls to the little cascade in the foreground. Excellent choice on the DOF and shutter speed.
