A trip to my parents in Devon usually reaps some kind of photographic dividend.
They have had up to 7 of these visiting their feeders almost hourly for the last 3 months or so, so needless to say I got some good opportunites to get to grips with this beautiful bird.
I'm going with the second image ,a brave comp in positioning the bird far right but works really well .The seed remnant below its beak is a little distracting , clone it out perhaps .
They are messy eaters aren't they. Only a couple of days ago, my mrs suggested getting some shots of these in among our apple blossom. Never got around to it and now you have beaten me to it. I really like the comp, I think it is perfect.
Definitely the second for me colour-wise. eric
Wonderful birds and a very nice shot just where it should be in amongst the blossoms. , I just wish we had a few in my neck of the woods, they disappeared along with the apple orchards years ago.

A most attractive bird on an equally attractive perch.

I like the smooth light here that brings out the colors very natural.
You have right, these little guys are really beauties.

I prefer the colours in the first post.
Have taken your advice and cloned out the seed remnants. Looks a lot better IMO.
