White Faced Ibis
Slowed down this morning to check out the flooded field on my way to Mother's house. This White Faced Ibis stepped out of the grass. Had no idea at the time what it was just knew I had never seen one before. Was thankfull I had the camera ready. Got a couple decent shots as it waded across the way. Just past it was a female Hooded Merganser with her brood and then a group of Blue Wing Teal. In 150 feet, and less than 5 min,I had three sets of images and one was a first, I didn't even have to get out of the van.
Olympus E 510 Sigma 50-500mm @ 674mm eq f6.3 1/1600 ISO 800 Cropped a bit and bumped levels a bit.

What luck. A couple of great shots. Don't think I've ever seen one of these. Usually when something like this happens I don't have my camera with me.

Great timing and shots! I've never seen one this far north. Too bad your field can't stay as a wetlands, you've got nice little sanctuary going on there!

Nice work, Kendall. I like the cleaner BG in the first shot but the better details in the second. Nice find of a bird you don't see often in the MW.

Never seen one of these birds in person. Nicely done.
