Grey heron with gift
Hello friends,
thanks for your comments to my last post.
Here in our Heron colony the breeding season has fully started now.
They nest in the highest trees so for decent shots I am about
100 meters away at the opposite hillside. So I have to wait for an
overcast day due to calm air to get clean shots.
7D, 600/5,6, ISO 500; 1/1000; F11;
Thanks for looking, C and C welcome.

A nice habitat shot, a good clean image. Just a pity about the bland greyish sky, a minor nit though!

Paul. :wavey:

I agree with Paul, light was not in your favour but it is a nice habitat image! Well done

I like this but would a vertical work even better.I quite like the clean grey background and there's plenty of interest.

Hi Bertl

You have handled the light well and always good to see two birds sharp in the frame - tend to agree with Phil that a verticle image would work a little better!

Hard comp for me to make a decision on . In one way the right hand side is devoid of interest but needed for the space for the birds to look / fly into .Elevation of the camera is fine as a view point .

I think the comp is fine as it is Bertl. Great birds and this is a lovely image of their family life.
