I went to download the latest ICC profiles for my Epson 2400 but found that there are many profiles that confused me. For example I found for the luster type paper the following profiles:

1) SPR2400 PremLuster BstPhoto.icc
2) SPR2400 PremLuster Photo.icc
3) SPR2400 PremLuster PhotoRPM.icc

I use two kinds of paper, Epson premium luster photo paper and the matt heavy weight. Both names changed to (Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster) for the luster paper & (Premium Presentation Paper Matte) for the matt. Now which profiles will fit my luster paper?

Thanks for any help.

Mohsen, if you look into the advanced printer settings you will find the settings for (Fine) (Photo) (Best Photo) (Photo RPM). You can select the printer/paper profile to match. Typically, I always used the Best or Bst with Epson Premium Luster Paper until I recently had Michael Gordon work up a custom profile for my printer a Epson 2400 and using Premium Luster Paper. With the custom profile there is no guess work, it's plug and print from that point forward.

Mohsen,

Download the new profiles and install them. Thes profiles will replae the old ones. When you do a Print with Preview and, after selecting the 2400 in Page Setup (I'm assuming you are using PhotoShop) Besure to select, Let PhotoShop manage colors. In the 'Profile' dropdown, select the profile you want to use.

I use the same paper and printer. I select SPR2400 PremLuster BstPhoto.icc.

After setting up Print with Preview, I proceed as Paul indicates; I select "Ultra Premium" and "Best Photo" in the Epson print dialog. I also turn color Management 'Off'.

You would use a similar procedure when using the matte paper. Oh, and don't forgret to switch out the Photo Black cartridge for the Matte Black!

I got it now and many thanks.

Paul,
I ordered my profile from Michael as per your suggestion and I am waiting to receive them. I will keep you and other updated about how the new print will appear.

Sounds really good, Mohsen. I've been using a custom profile from MG for well over a month now and in fact just made up three prints again today. Only issue I have is running out of ink and paper all the time...
