I spotted some blackcaps singing in the local woods the other week while out running and went out today to try and get some shots. Seems they aren't so keen to sing when I'm not running. However during the wait this treecreeper turned up which was a pleasant surprise. The light was pretty poor.

Hey Calum, out with the new toy.

Great subject to christen your new acquisition with. Really like the soft muted light which works well with the subject. Considering the high ISO it has produced, certainly at this size, a relatively good image. Might want to tweak around the eye & wing with some HL/Shadow?

Looks like you have the camera set up well.

Hi Calum - as Steve says, a lovely subject and I bet you are happy with the result.

For me, I'd like to have seen the bird lower in the frame to give it more tree to climb - otherwise, a good clean BG and insects as well, which is a bonus :wavey: :wavey:

Works fine for me .A little more bird would have been the cherry....

Agree with minor nit but a lovely image Calum. Lots of detail. These little beggars don't stay still for a minute :toast:

Nice one Calum.

I really like the tones in the BKGR as they are so similar to those in the bark of the tree.

Cheers
