Mallard (F) (Anas platyrhynchos)
Taken whilst photographing the Plovers earlier, a pair of courting Mallards befriended a colleague, this was the female who was happy to be photographed.

Not running out of things to photograph, although having taken it, I was pleasantly surprise how good looking they are, photogenic wise that is!!!

I wouldn't duck em .. I'll get my coat.
This is extremely well processed ,bags of detail and vibrant in the colours and presentation..

If they weren't so common I am sure they would get much more attention. Cracking shot :toast:

A very well processed shot of a bird that gets little attention as everyone is off shooting the rarer species.

Nicely done Steve

No nits from me. One of a large number of common species that do not get the attention they deserve.

Good detail. Common species well caught.

they are very attractive aren't they - if mallards were rare we'd all be desperate to photograph one which is a bit daft really. A very attractive portrait Steve, I like the complementary colours in the background.
