Swallow in flight

Hi all,

I am still spending some time developing "a relationship" with the Mk4 camera. It is taking me longer than I imagined to migrate from a MK3 to a MK4. Not just in terms of the camera settings but also the need to change RAW converter as my trusty version of CS3 doesn't support the MK4.

Here is one of a Swallow taken recently across open fields. There were a fair number of them around and the odd one would stop on the fence wire. This was taken soon after it had taken off from a stationary position and is a reasonable crop from a 700mm lens combination.

C&C welcome.

1DMK4, 500mm +1.4x, f6.3, 1/1600 ISO 800

Cheers

Austin

This looks spot on Austin. Great background and good detail where you need it. The MK4 is quite a transition.

Very very tricky to capture, hard enough just trying to follow them with our eyes. An excellent capture Austin.

This is an excellent shot Austin, the tail feather markings are something you would not normally be able to see, great composition, well done.

I assume Austin this is the original one and not tweaked, which I think is a pity, a fraction in brightness & Sat I think makes it as you know. Still think it's a good image. :toast: :toast:
