Hi Mike,

nice Buzzard portrait which looks ok for a large crop.

It looks a bit bright to me though

A typical Gigrin Buzzard... I do not think you needed +1 EV as the image does look a little overexposed... It is a nice record of the bird though, I find the composition to be a little static and I think I would try several different crops using as many thirds etc to find a placement for the bird that was a little bit more dynamic, maybe portrait with the bird smaller and on one of the top thirds?

A fine capture of bird I've never been able to get close to, I'll try and make Gigrin next year.

A bit bright Mike and to be honest from where I'm sitting it doesn't look sharp on the eye. Point of focus looks to be at rear or slightly behind the bird.

Thanks all, thats the problem with using an old laptop, I think the LCD is on the way out. I've tried hooking up my old CRT but no doubt this is displaying too bright so the image may be a tad too dark now?

Rob

I was in too minds about the depth of focus as well, it is certainly weighted to the rear, but a further sharpening pass may have improved things?, albeit the plantain is starting to luck "crunchy". One day I will master selective sharpening
