Pheasant portrait
I normally think of pheasants as very dumb birds, but this one just posed for me for ages and almost seemed to know the poses I wanted. This is one of the early shots, later on I changed down to the 70-300 and got some pictures of the whole bird as well.

Spot on David. Wonderful detail and the plain background gives it a nice clean look, putting all the attention on the bird.

Pheasants 'ARE IN' David, good detail and sharpness, wondered if it could have a hint more saturation just to go WOW  Perhaps a slight tighter crop from the lhs and top? :toast:

Excellent image David, very natural looking colours and the composition works well for me.

Great background. Shows off the colours very well indeed.

Composition is ok, but the OOF brown/red feathers in the foreground are very dominant. Not easy to get big DOF with that rig though.

Cheers,

Spot on for me too, you have captured some great detail in that face David, first time I've seen the ear tufts on a Pheasant as well, top shot.

nice one David, you *could* crop a bit tighter to lose the OOF plumage, but I like it as it is

cheers
