I have been driving east of Kiowa for a couple of weeks hoping to get a good sunset with a windmill. Last night was not too bad though the wind was howling and even with a heavy tripod it was difficult to avoid camera shake. This image is looking west from Highway 86 about 10-miles east of Kiowa. I would have preferred to be closer to the windmill and lower in order to have the structure entirely silhouetted. I would have had to go on private property to do that but, without permission, I was not about to trespass.

Nice image, Rod. I wouldn't worry too much about the windmill being farther off than you would've liked. It adds ample punctuation to the beautiful atmospherics in this shot. I like (what appears to be) the distant mountains on the left. Overall I think the image is a little too heavily weighted on the left, but not having been there, I wouldn't know if there was a preferable option.
