UT/AZ Border Adventure
Well folks you know what a trip to extreme southern UT and AZ means... an icon bludgeoning! I'll try to keep it to a minimum.

#1 Bloomin Yuccas

C&C Welcome nad thanks for looking!

#2 Horseshoe Bend

I know I needed a little wider lense, but I'm not really bothered by the cut off river at the bottom, though it will probably agitate some. The sun was high and there was some clouds so I went there specifically to take images that would be converted to B&W. Also, I shot sans polarizer for the cloud reflections in the river.

#3 A very remote and seldom visited slot in AZ. I was surprised I wasn't the only person there.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiice, Jeff! I really like the b&w conversion of Horseshoe Bend and the bloomin' yuccas. I'm not bothered by the cut off section of river. Looks like you had a productive and fun trip.

I like that B&W rendition of the horseshoe bend and the yuccas too. Nice set throughout Jeff.

The yucca shot is just excellent! I like the slot and the wave shots too. Very well done. The cut-off river and sky in the second one really bothers me.

The yucca image is delightful, Jeff. Where was that taken?
Great light and composition. I might be tempted to clone out much of the loose debris in the sand because it's so clean around 3/4 of the area.
The Horseshoe Bend shot is a spectacular b&w conversion, and the clouds reflected in the water are sweet! Those two factors alone trump the cut off river. I hardly gave that any thought.
'Surf's Up' is a superb composition, and the light is perfect. Great find!

You really scored on this trip, Jeff...congratulations!

These are all nice but the first one is by far my fave!

I'm joining the chorus here. Those yuccas looked like they posed just for you! And that b&w Horseshoe Bend shot is WOW! A real strong collection across the board.

Jeff- Great set, but those blooming yuccas are especially awesome. Congrats! :toast:

Great haul. The yucca shot really caught my eye. Nice style to it.

Wonderful stuff, Jeff. I'll echo everyone else's comments on 1 and 2, but I also really like the tones and colors in 5. I'd say you had a productive trip.

Wonderful shots Jeff. BTW, when I was at Horseshoe Bend in March with my D2Xs and 17-35mm lens, I was unable to include everything in the shot. I mounted the lens vertrically on my tripod and panned across with four shots. I stitched those with Photoshop and came away with a really nice image.

I really like the first two, but all are a very nice collection.

Some familiar sights, very nice! I vote for the B&W horeshoe bend--very cool.

Jeff,
I really like how the back sandstone wall is a match for the yucca blooms. Eye-pleasing image.

REALLY nice series Jeff. The BW is excellent. The crop makes it better.
