Standing Proud-Black-Tailed Godwit
A Black-Tailed Godwit standing proud on top of a high vantage point on the island of Texel, taken alongside Jeroen Stel. Had a great time, lovely hotel and food, the wildlife, more so the birdlife was amazing there. The weather was'nt the best but we all made the best of the chances that popped up.Here this Male was on a fence post, standing tall and proud, the car was used as a hide, allowing us to approach without causing the bird any stress, this beautiful, close encounter with this stunning bird was beautiful. The Dutch I'm told call 'The King Of The Birds' One of my favorite birds to so a real plus.

Very nice !
Remember these in nearly every field over there on my last trip. nearly every gatepost had one standing guard. Most of my shots were spoilt by Dandelions !
( I got my veterans badge - for spending two years bird watching most of the time !)
