Blossom of an old Dutch..
..apple cultivar called Friandise. It was grafted on a M27 rootstock in the 1980's, but it was too inhibited by the dwarfing rootstock and I nearly lost it. I am slowly nurturing it back
to producing blossom. The cultivar was first described in 1760 and has fifteen synonyms. See

I'll bet the fruits make a great pie..
A little garish with the dark BG .Personally I'd prefer a single point to focus on but as a record of this no doubt rare beauty its technically excellent .

The backgrounds a little dark for me David, just personal preference, but there's no denying the impact it gives to the blossom.
A pleasing arrangement of flowers and good sharpness throughout.
