Dipper - (Cinclus cinclus)
Always a bit of fun these, but I appreciated that for once he/she was playing 'I'm a statute', or 'If I freeze you won't see me'. Some won't like the light (spheres) in the BG, but that is water and if removed them or toned them down I feel it would look even more pedestrian?

Great detail and comp .The specular highs in this instance are very acceptable and hint at the BG habitat .Thats one close Dipper .

A good, strong portrait.
The highlights in the background don't spoil the image for me.

Thanks guys

Paul/DC just dropped the Gamma a fraction before posting just to help IMHO the whites 0.95. Guess that was too much. DC can you forward your revised file, as it would be good to see the two for comparison. Might also speak to DN too.

looks great to me, a lovely Dipper image. I like the reflections in the background, they add to the atmosphere some how.

Looks ok on my screen as it is steve, really nice feather detail and the highlights really don't bother me at all, not alot you can do about them!

Great detail, especially the eye. Highlights frame the subject nicely without detracting from it. :toast:

Hi Stephen. Missed this earlier.
Can't make my mind up about the colour or darkness but they do vary tremendously with the surrounding conditions and light. Its the texture of the dark feathers which to me look oh so very slightly too sharp (If that's possible ) Still a very nice shot though.

Hi Steve,
BG works fine for me too, I like the excellent detail in the plumage and the soft
light falling on the dipper.
