The Human race at its worse, forgive my ignorance but why doesnt an organisation such as the WWF tackle this? Can nothing be done?

There was a documentary about this problem on the Beeb a few years back - it's all the plastic waste of western (+ Japanese) society that simply ends up in the Pacific as the seas seem to be an out of sight out of mind dumping ground at times. Unbelievable from so-called civilised nations eh?!
