There's still color out there
Well even though wildflower season is coming to an end there is still color to be found. This little guy was hangin' out on a Joshua tree off of Mojave Tropico Road between Rosamond and Tehachapi.

Great color indeed John. I never would have guessed the Mojave - more like the tropics or S. America. What a great find and I'm sure you had fun with this.

Thanks for sharing.

Cool shot, how'd you find it?

WOW, I have seen MANY a lizard out and about here in California, but do not recall seeing anything with the underbelly colors like this guy. Nice capture, John.

John,

Beautiful lizard, he must have thought he was big and bad he's giving you the fully full on territorial display. Totally inflated and showing off his iridescent belly. I believe it's a male Desert Spiny Lizard, but the colors are so bright it could be mistaken for the colorful Baja variety of swift. Really cool image whatever it is.

Very cool!! Great colors and fine capture! Against the blue background, the little fella really stands out.
