Saw the nuthatches and thought I'd stick mine in,

This was the exact shot I was after for a whole day at yarner Wood - particularly the composition, interested to see what people think?

Thanks,

Mark

I like the pose, perch, composition and eye contact. The only nit maybe that it has some hot spots but it gives it sparkle.

very nice photo. I'm not sure about the composition. Would it have worked any better as a horizontal shot so the bird had somewhere to look into? It feels to me like it might need a bit off the bottom and more on the right. Perhaps a square format might look good. Might be worth trying different formats by cloning and see how the different variations look and feel.

Hi Mark
a terrific picture of the Nuthatch. Pity we do not get these birds in my area maybe some day.

Very nice Mrk, but I am of the same opinion regarding the composition. Personally, I'd like to see what a horizontal crop looks like. Bit too much at the bottom for me and aslo there are a couple of hotspots that are minor nits. I know Yarner and it's pretty harsh lighting once it's over that hill. Never managed a really good shot there really whilst the sun was out - but that's my lack of skill no doubt!!

Other than that, I like it.
