You will have to ignore some parts of the pool as I am in and out touching up and adding bits (and removing bits) as I notice them through the lens. Will just take a little time.
Very nice ! Especially with the back light.Small white high lights can be a problem but easily rectified. The bright bit of the edge of the bath at the bottom would be better out maybe.

Looks like the new project is taking shape well. There's always going to be a few teething problems to start with but I'm sure the images will get better and better as the pool naturally evolves and you make any photogenic adjustments along the way.Well done Maggie.
You are def heading in the right direction with this, nice one! I know what you mean about distractions not showing themselves until you look through the viewfinder, it can be a right pain when you have to keep getting in and out of a hide to adjust things.
That's not a pool it's a lake, at least compared to my dish, it is. A very pleasing image. and I agree with the Master about the bright bottom bit.
As to your question about scrim net, it was to provide cover when I leave the back (or front) door open. There is a magpie that brings dry bread from somewhere else and dips it into a plastic bucket that I keep fill with water, to make it more palatable I suspect. I've tried to photograph it without cover through my kitchen window but it is too alert and shoots off.
I admire your efforts Maggie, I look forward to seeing the results and for a first paddle its a nice shot, I would agree with John that a tiny crop to take away the distracting bottom RH corner might help, but thats just my opinion. Oh and just out of interest how far away from your puddle are you taking pics? and what species are you hoping to get?
Thanks everyone. Pool has now been enlarged and renovated so should have less distracting features. Brian I am shooting from about 12 ft away.
David yes Magpies do tend to dunk the bread before eating. They are extremely hard to photograph though as if you even breath they fly off

The highlights don't really bother me - I like it.
