Spring at the Subway
Me and the mrs. hiked the Subway and some other personal favorites this weekend. I have hiked the Subway this early and earlier and have never seen this much water, there was no way to avoid getting wet. The water was very cold and it was a little dangerous with all the slippery walking we had to do up near the subway. Here's a few images.

1. Canyon Journey. Not the Subway, but probably my favorite place in the park and have been to it many times.

C&C welcome and thankd for looking!

4 Subway Falls (at least this year)

I was too chickin to try and get up above these falls for the classic shot. The water was flowing just to hard and it was pretty slippery!

I was expecting an Italian BMT on flatbread with lettuce, tomato and mayo, but these will do. I love the Arch Angel Falls shots. All of these are given a little extra oomph! from all the water flowing through.

Jeff I like them all but #2 is especially sweet.

Nice to see this in the spring. That looks like a lot of water! Nice shots too!

Like the others, I find it refreshing to see images from here with plenty of water flowing.
#2 is my favorite of this series. I think it was worth the effort you folks put into getting here.
You really reaped some excellent images from this trip, Jeff!

Great images Jeff! I thought about going up there but decided to cover some areas I hadn't been. Now, I'm wishing I would have found the time. #2 is my favorite as well. Those falls are just so photogenic and you captured it in terrific conditions. :toast:

Very nice set! Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink! Another vote for #2.

Interesting to see this area in the spring. I think I've pretty much just seen fall shots. I actually like #3 the best, as it's different than the normal shots you see of these falls.

I like 1 and 3, but 5 is just so interesting! Great stuff!

Great set of images, #2 is my favorite, I've never seen so much water over those falls and the contrast between the trees and the canyon wall really makes the image pop.

Very nice set indeed - I can only imagine how slippy it must have been getting up to the top of the subway with that much water flowing!

I've never seen a photo of this place with this much water. Outstanding images, Jeff.

Another vote for #2. Well done.

nice stuff Jeff. Another vote for number 2, but I also like the last one as well. Ilike the 3rd, but would hope the tree top wasn't chopped off. If it were not, it would have been my favorite one.

2 and 3 are awesome Jeff! Love the diff perspective on #3, I think it's my favorite out of the bunch...

Great job on #2, the location and falls look amazing.

Thanks for the comments peeps! Stephen, it was slippery enough that I wasn't sure we were going to make it. It wasn't just that it was slippery the depth and strength of the current limited where we could walk, which in turn limited comps. In Arch Angel Falls I tried to get an image from the second shelf and the current started to slide me downstream, a little scary since the bottom falls was right behind me, so with adrenaline pumping I abandoned the effort. Result of a fall would have been no bueno! Just in case anyone is going to Zion soon the Narrows will be closed for two more weeks. 140 cfs is the max flow to be open.

These are great. I LOVE # 2. Those colorful rock walls and all that green with the water makes this beautiful. Nice series.

Really like the angle in the third image. Great color and details in the rocks as well.
