Wild Azaleas near the Mulberry River
I found a few late bloomers tucked under a bluff near Spy Rock Saturday morning. It was a great day to be out in the rain!

Few things are as enjoyable as the sweet aroma of wild azaleas after a spring shower. This is a beautiful reminder, Tom - thanks for sharing.

The azaleas kinda slipped up on me this year. The only ones I saw were at Sweden Creek NA on Saturday, but they didn't look nearly this good.

I sniffed my screen but didn't get an aroma.... [grins]
Sight and smell do go together, don't they....

I didn't get rained on Saturday, but the water on the vegetation I whacked through was enough for a good soaking anyhow. Sunday, now that was a different story. A thunderstorm came through that drenched me in spite of umbrellas, and it dropped enough rain to turn the creek I was shooting along into a brown, roaring, impassable torrent, leaving my dog and me stranded on the wrong side. It took a couple of hours of struggling through downed trees and new growth to get far enough upstream to cross safely.

Good job with the azalea, Tom, and I bet there's a good story behind the taking of it.

Really nice image Tom, the azalea's really are beautiful in the wild.

Thanks for the comments. Randy, I got off the trails a few times and I felt like I was in the jungles of Cambodia! It was really wet and lush in the woods Saturday.

That is a beauty. Love the details and the water drops. The BG is perfect.
