Another one from last week, i have tried to balance the exposure to lift the blacks more, the whites arent burnt out. a very difficult subject. i wanted feedback to see if people think the background is to much of a distraction.. or if you like the complementary colours.
Hi Mark . The BG lichens are a touch overpowering for me. There appears to be some ''noise'' at the edges too. A longer piece of glass enabling a better bokeh may have helped here .The square crop ? Not sure if portrait might suit it better .Well timed image with expo nicely done
the background is a tad overpowering for me too,I think portrait would suit this with more room at the top as he is looking up,love to see them with the beak open and that yellow mouth, but with the background being the same colour it doesn t show up very well, saying all this I wish I had a shot of one
I would have to agree about the background Mark, it is a bit overpowering. A nice pose fromt the Razorbill, just a shame it was sat next to all that lichen
Lovely pose from the Razorbill but a portrait crop would be better to lose some of the lichen. Try desaturating the image slightly and see if that works or try a black and white? Nice image though.

going to go with the masses on this one I am afraid
If you could tone the background down a tadge it would make it a lot better
