Latourell Fall revisited
With the incoming storm, and a weekend workshop scheduled for the gorge this weekend...., I was reminded of another workshop, a few years ago in the pouring rain down at Latourell Falls. I know this is an iconic place, but there is so much to explore there and appreciate. This images was made in 2006, with the my old Nikon D200 and my 20mm 2.8 ( non zoom!) lens

This image was taken in pouring rain, lousy conditions but conducive to great photography. As Galen used to say" bad weather makes for good photography". I just remember getting soaked.

So I hope it pours, blows and is crappy the next few days.... we sure are lucky to be here in the beautiful Pacific NWest!

Get out & enjoy it folks!

Jack, the wet rocks really make this shot. You really have a foreground/background shift working here, that's excellent. Overall an awesome shot of the falls.

Cool take on this falls Jack, love the foreground rock stack and the way you balanced it with the rest of the composition. It could be my monitor (crappy laptop), but there may be a slight green cast to the falls.

I really like the vertical lines created by the basalt on the background wall and the waterfall dropping down from above. I also like how the shape of the foreground boulders mirror the shape of the background wall. Great image Jack.
