71 foot tall Lower Ken Smith Falls, three shot stitch.
I made the hike/swim into Hawk Hollow this morning to photograph Smith and McClure falls. I have never seen that trail covered with so much water, over a foot deep in a lot of places. Of course water is a good thing. I saw lots of poison ivy and no snakes, although I bet a few saw me. It is pretty thick out there right now. I was going to head down to Bowers on the way out but the sun came out and ruined everything.
Really nice Matt. Youv'e been catching some great one here lately. Matt I think the other shot is awesome. i would crop the bottom and left side off and I think it would be even stronger.
I'm with you on the crop Gale. I have some that were shot vertical that are probably pretty close to what you are talking about.
I wish I could have gotten past that stick on the left in the first shot. Footing was an issue. The ground was very soft, I slid down several shale hills involuntary. One spot I slid about 15 feet down voluntarily after I realized the ground was giving way and I really didn't have much option. At least there are plenty of trees to grab a hold of.
I need to hike in there sometime, looks like an awesome area. I hiked into Bowers last spring after a big rain and the trail was like a creek, my pants were completely soaked by the time i got to the falls.
