Another in the series from my recent shooting trip to Oregon. We spent three days with Marc Adamus and two more on our own after that. I could have stayed out there and told my wife to send my stuff to me. This waterfall is on the easily accessed Tanner Creek trail. This is a very large and powerful waterfall. the large rock right in front of the falls is about 15 feet tall. I would estimate that regular flow in this one would be nearly the equal of Cedar Falls in high normal flow.
Another nice image Bob. Unlike most of the falls in Arkansas, there is no shortage of dark foliage and terrain back behind the top of the waterfall. Isn't nice to have such high-quality photos of all the cool places you visited?
Thanks everyone for the kind words...I've been working hard at his for a few years and I finally feel comfortable enough in the field to start to really think about composition and not so much on the technical side of things...if I can ever figure out Photoshop then I will take another big step...and as for Marc Adamus I would say FANTASTIC! There were three of us on the tour and he spent 99% of his time helping us as much as we needed. From helping with camera/composition/to getting us and our gear up and over stuff he did a great job. Very personable and took us to the good spots to eat also. Never shooting on the coast before he taught me about tide tables and the the "swell" so if I ever go back I can muddle through that pretty well on my own. I will tour with him again.
This is a beautiful shot. The waterfall is really beautiful but what makes it so interesting to me is all the details and textures you got around the falls. Nicely done!
Bob, all of these falls from Oregon you have been posting are amazing. Thanks for showing them all to us. I think I know where I want to go for my next long trip.
Everyone,
Oregon is truly an amazing place. I absolutely loved it. I was the planner for my group and all the time getting ready for it the two other guys were concerned we were going to get bored out there. When time to come home rolled around they were both upset we didn't stay a couple of more days. The neat thing about the Gorge is that the water flows just about all year, the canyons are narrow so even on the rare clear day you can shoot moving water images most of the day, easily acessed right off a major 4 lane, and it is EVERYWEHRE you look. As far as the seashore we were middle of the state to the northern half and the locals told me the southern coast is even more beautiful.
