Catch the Curlew
Canon 40D, 100-400
400mm
iso 800, 1/800, f5.6
16:9 crop of full frame

Taken up on the Black Isle. Not sure about the composition - too much space on the full frame and tighter crop just increases the noise.
C&C welcome.

An amusing shot, James, with a very good title. I agree that composition is a problem, but think that I would still be inclined to trim some off the bottom just below the reflections.

Nice flight shot James

I agree with David that a bit off the bottom would improve it. :toast:

Hi james,
I would say that you have got about as much out of this shot as you can personally. Interesting behaviour and contrast between the colourful oystercatchers and the dull curlew, but I bet you would have killed for better light.

Nice one James - maybe a very little off the bottom.
