In the Bird Photo forum there is a thread about RAW processing. There are several comments about PhotoSHop Elements having RAW processing. I have PSE 7 and can find no place in it to process RAW. Am I missing something?
I had the same problem John. You need to download and install Adobe Camera Raw 5.6 update.
When I open a raw file with it I get a message from windows saying it doesn't recognize it, when you see it just click OK and the file should open anyway.
Here's the link

When you get there scroll down the page a ways for the instructions for installing to PSE7.
If for some reason the link doesn't work just search for the update. I had to look around a little but you'll find it.

That depends on what model camera you're using. If it's one that you current ACR doesn't support, then yes, you'll have to download the newest version.

I don't know what camera you have, I have a Nikon so I went to the Nikon website where I found "Nikon codecs". With this installed windows can read raw files.
Try it for your camera
