Another from the 'Cub' series that broke all my rules, taken in Botswana.

Shot a few minutes before the sun went down, no Saturation, Colour balance has been added, this is just at the end of the Golden light, purrrrrrrrrfect.

Superb lighting makes this portrait stand out. Leave the fly alone.

The fly stays in guys, and it strands of grass Berti. As it's part of the scene IMHO they stay in, as shot.

Beautiful Steve :toast: :toast: Strands of grass fly an all.

Only one thing wrong with it

The bloody awful joke

Wicked lighting. Can't fault it. It will be a long time before we see a better lion portrait than that.

Gorgeous portrait, but I am afraid the second thing I noticed after the lighting on the cub was the fly. Ultimately it is the photographer's choice, but personally I would get rid of it.

I could go on about the awful jokes, but I don't want to be catty...

I prefer it with the fly still in, it was there when taken and adds to the image IMO.

The photo is excellent but the jokes well....................

Superb! Very crisp and wonderful expression. If anything, you could back off on the saturation a little (although I appreciate the African evening sun has this effect)
