Marsh Fritillary + another
Looks like our local populations of this butterfly are going to have a good year at one site today I saw a minimum of 60 individuals all in good condition having emerged in the last couple of days. Thought about removing leaf on right of frame but decided to leave it.

Beautiful shot David :toast:

Wonderfully detailed and great colours.

Sadly we do not get any of these around here.

Hi David, my vote is to keep the leaves in too, the idea of this 'perfect BG' can almost give a false look so the inclusion is right. The colour is really punchy, are they that bright, I guess so, based on the foliage?

David

Well caught and I like it as is. Can't wait for some species to arrive on the south coast. Seems to be almost a month adrift at the moment.

Hi David Great shot, The trouble is every time I look at it this picture the Brown bramble stem keeps taking my eye off the main subject. Still a great shot all the same.

Nice one Dave with stunning detail, I'm sure you have one but I would love to see an image without the forwings covering the hind wings... did that make sense?
