Was'nt sure if to put him in the centre, on the left but opted for the right.

Hi Dale

I can understand your dilemma - if you have enough space I feel it would work better in the verticle format with the bird fairly central. Lovely perch & BG.

DAle I would agree with David on this one.

I can also see your dilemma Dale, this really isn't an easy one to compose. To me this may have been the best option, although I think I'd have to see it on the left of the frame to definitely rule that out. That point aside, it's an excellent shot.

Hi Dale
Think Dave's idea is about right. Nice shot anyway.

I like the composition as it is - wouldn't change a thing. A catchlight would have helped.

Hi Dale,

Fantastic shot.

I agree with David a switch to portrait would polish off a super image.

For me you made the right composition choice Dale; the bird is facing the space you've left and the wing is pointing in that direction too. Yes, David is right about the portrait format but that would be a nice addition and not a replacement for what you've got IMO. Nice moment - like it.

Cheers,
Chris

Given this format you have chosen well. A Portrait mode would work better as per Davids suggestion.
