Hi all,
I borrowed a friends D50 for a pelagic. I have a 1D2n but wanted to compare the speed of autofocus. I now have about 400 images that I can't seem to process. They're loaded into Breezebrowser and you can see each of the images but when I select them and then click "Edit" - "Process Raw Images", no image appears. I've also noticed that the images are prefixed IMG rather than the usual E. Is this significant, any suggestions?
Rob,
The IMG prefix is a jpg in sRGB color space prefix on the 50D, If it were a jpg in adobe 98 it would show _MG as the prefix, replacing the I with an underscore. The file extension for both would be .jpg . A raw file would also have a _MG prefix, but a .CR2 file extension which should be changed to small case (.cr2) when renaming the files to conform to standard naming conventions. Upper case works in most programs, but is not standard.
What does the file extension of these files say?
Neil
the files have CR2 as their extension and are listed as raw files. The camera was certainly set on raw although being the first time I've used it I may have done something wrong??
Does your version of Breezebrowser support the 50D? Every new camera release must be added to the the software and if you have not updated recently it may not be supported.
I found that the software that came with my 50D would not allow me to work with CR2 so I went to the adobe website and downloaded the converter directly and now things seem to be working. Not exactly the same situation but thought I would share my experience.

Yes, I installed the version that came with the camera when my version didn't seem to work. Still no image.
