Hi,

One from a very enjoyable day, after saying farewell to Rob Fisher and his Dad, Fran and I headed to Elmley.

This Heron landed too close the the Avocet chicks and was promptly mobbed.... really needed a camera with a higher burst rate..

All the best

Good action shot Phil.
I bet a heron would soon demolish an Avo chick.
See you next week..
Cheers

A fabulous action shot Phil, one that very few witness. I shall post the follow up image in a day or two.

Very nice indeed.

It is a great behavioural shot, Phil. On a day of very contrasty light you have done well to retain so much detail in the avocet.

Superb action! I'd be tempted to crop to exclude the brown plant (?) on the right.

Great action shot and I would agree with excluding the brown plant. :toast: :toast:

Nice timing Phil and great poses from both subjects.
To strengthen the comp I'd like the space on either side of the animals to be equalled out a little (being really picky, I know); cropping out the brown 'blob' would achive this so it gets my vote too. Congrats all the same.

Cheers,
Chris
