This is the same bird that John Wannop posted a couple of weeks ago.
As before it was taken from a boat on Loch Na Keal with fish being thrown to bring it in.
Just wish I'd had the light that John had!

Techs
Canon 30D 500mm (much too long most of the time  )
f4 1/1250 iso200
Canvas slightly extended in front of the bird.

This is posted for critique so please feel free to let loose on it.

Thanks
Bob

I suspect you are right, this eagle could become very popular indeed. Even though you did not have great lighting conditions, I still feel that you could give this shot a bit more punch by careful use of shadows/highlights and contrast. Worth playing around with though, as it is a nice sharp image.

I do agree with David here, a very nice image indeed but it does need more contrast etc., and also a little more room in front of the raptor. I would be proud to have a similar image in my p/f as I have never witnessed these yet! Nice one.

Hi Bob,

Great Eagle image. I forgot to drop the book off
Glad we were on at the start of the week so we could book the guests on for another blast.

Looks as good as anything we could grab. :toast:

Most of us would be delighted to have taken this I'm sure. I agree with the comments so far.

Great action shot of this magnificent bird. Would be interested to see it with the adjustments suggested above as I like it as it is.

Stunning bird. :toast:

I agree with previous comments. the image is nice and sharp and a little more post processing could extract more punch out.

Here's the repost guys - increase the contrast a tad and a slight play with highlights/shadows

Thanks a lot for the comments folks, much appreciated.
Fran, as I mentioned above I've already stretched the canvas in front of the bird and although I think you're quite right in wanting more space in front I feel I have reached the limits of that stretch without it showing too much.
Marcus- Hope you had a good trip and found lots for your guests. This Eagle trips great isn't it, we're going out again on Sunday!!

If anyone wants info on this trip please email me and I'll pass on the details
