I Read in an RSPB book yesterday the old country name for the dunnock was shufflewing, this was because of their habit of lifting one wing to display, i had not noticed this before and today this one was living up to it's name in my back garden.
Taken through back window, i know the background is messy but found it interesting to see this behaviour anyway,(he was displaying to House Sparrows) also this is a split second display and it was quite hard to catch it doing it in the open.

A behaviour I was watching only yesterday & to get a clear shot I did struggled due to their quickness in darting about, also it isn't easy to get a shot when they keep flittering in & out of the undergrowth.
Fair play, here you have captured the courtship behaviour brilliantly & the fine detail of the birds plumage. Nice one Brian
