While wandering around Coyote Buttes South with my wife we ran across some spectacular cross bedding in reflected light. Unlike most of the reflected light I have seen though this particular location seemed to almost glow a very bright color like a highlighter. I know the composition isn't anything special but what do you guys think?

I like it. What a delicate looking piece of sandstone.
Bet you guys had a great time!

As it stands, this could really use a Levels adjustment, esp. to set the black point (see your histogram). I would do it on a separate layer and then change the Blend mode from 'Normal' to 'Luminosity' to lose the added saturation that the adjustment will create here.

Exploded Highlighter!

That would explain the smell...

That is some gorgeous light for sure. I really need to keep my eye out for reflected light more often.

That is some beautiful soft light, I really like the comp., especially how pattern curves in the frame. Great find!.

Nice, delicate scene and good job refraining from overstaturating.

Thanks all for your comments. John excuse my ignorance but I'm not familiar with setting the black point. Is there an article online for reference? I assume it performs a color shift but how specifically would this image benefit?

Thanks. Andy

Very simple image. Like the subtle colors and the details.
