Songbird ID Help
I took a picture of this bird yesterday in the Weaselhead Natural Area, Calgary, Alberta. The area I was in was a dry marsh / delta which is mostly woody shrubbery and aspen shoots. I have been having the hardest time identifying this bird. This is the only pose I have, so no breast or flight shots. Any help you can give me in narrowing down the genus or species is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Rob

Cindy,
Thanks for the help. I was guessing it was a female and my field guide is geared towards searching based upon the male color patterns.

Thanks again,
Rob

A bird of disreputable reproductive habits... I think the phrase is "obligate brood parasite."

Get rid of it and buy a decent field guide - you'll not regret it.
