Trip to Navajo Land
Only my second trip to the Southwest to see some of the icons that many of you have seen several times. It was certainly a WOW! experience for me with Upper and Lower Antelope, Horeshoe Bend, Monument Valley(second trip) and Canyon De Chelly. Weather was great. Mild with only one day of bad wind. Mylo Fowler, the guide who led me on the Photo tour of Upper Antelope,
was going to guide a group in Monument Valley the following day and I was allowed to tag along for a reasonable fee. What a great guy, spoke French and Spanish fluently, was a large format photographer himself, and was full of great Navajo stories that I enjoyed. If you are ever in Page look him up at Chief Tsosies....he does guide trips all over the area. An interesting guy. Below is an sunrise image I did of the Totems from that trip. This is full frame and I certainly could use some advice on the best crop or not crop.
CC alway welcome. Joe Rogers

Very nice Joe! I wouldn't crop anything, you have all the great ripples and shadows on the right and certainly can't crop the sun out. Sounds like you had a great trip, look forward to seeing more shots.

Wow!
You really knocked it out of the park with this one, Joe. I wouldn't crop a thing either.
Those sand patterns are sweet!
Were this mine, I might tone down the yellow band just above the sun, but that's a minor nit.
I'm really looking forward to seeing more from your trip.

A very stunning and beautiful shot, nice job on the composition as well.

That is one of the best photos I've seen of that area in a very long time. Great job!

That shot is spectacular! Definitely one of the nicest MV shots I've ever seen.

My only nit is that you missed the spelling of one of your locales by one letter. I believe it's Whoreshoe Bend.

Wonderful shot. No crop needed. As John suggested, a little work on sky would enhance image. the composition is great.

Thanks all for the kind words. I really get juiced everytime I go to this area. Although I have been in photography most of my life Im still learning as far a landscpapes go. This forum has always provided a trove of information and help. Thanks again.
Oh, and Todd, your corrected spelling is well noted.
