Bleeding Hearts
I must admit, it's rather intimidating posting photos after seeing all the amazing work on display here, but here goes.

Bleeding Hearts planted in my Mother In-Law's garden. I wish I could have gotten in plane with the blooms and been able to eliminate the green background. It could not be done without damaging plants, so I just played the hand I was dealt.

Date Taken: 4/25/2010
Specs: Pentax K-7, f/10, 1/15 sec, ISO 100, Tamron 90mm f2.8,
Natural light, tripod, cable release, mirror lock-up.

Thanks for taking the time to look, and C&C appreciated.

Regards,
Derek

Looks fine to me , like the water drops on each one.

I hope that you're not intimidated, Derek! None of us popped out of our mother's womb, clutching a camera and excellent eyes! :)

This is how we all learn, by sticking "it" out there.

Keep up the great work!

Tim!

Derek - a very nice image. I love the detail in the water droplets. Sometimes we just have to take what we can in terms of composition out in the real world. I'm glad you chose not to disturb in order to get the green out of the shot.

Great color and detail, I really like the droplets. The B/G is fine by me.

I really like this a lot, Derek. The water droplets are an added bonus to a really sharp, well composed flower close-up. Well seen and well executed. :toast:

Great shot of the hearts Derek. The variety we have here in the Pacific NW are more purple than red or pink. These are very nice. I like how a droplet clings to the crevice of each individual bosom. Errr excuse me, blossom.

And yes I know what you mean, there are some fantastic images posted on this site by some very talented photogs. It's inspirational to a neophyte like me.

Very, very pretty image--well done. Doesn't appear to me that you have anything to be intimidated by.
