Oil Spill - from beneath the surface

Here is a video of the oil spill from beneath the surface, in case anyone really believes that the dispersant BP is using "dillsolves" the oil.
Truly sickening.

Nothing to surprising in the video, looks like the chemicals are doing exactly what they were designed to do. The idea is that the dispersant (not dissolvant) breaks the oil apart into little balls, thereby increasing the surface area and allowing more microbial organisms to start decomposing the oil. Not sure if the dispersants are a better solution than skimming the oil out of the water, or if they do more harm than good. It's all quite an unfortunate catastrophe. Hopefully the tomorrow's topkill efforts will be successful and the flow of oil from this leak will be stopped.

Above and beyond the solutions efforts by BP, I an incredibly saddened and angered by the events which have lead to this terrible insult to our environment. I don't want to rant on the political side although that we would be easy to do. I'm just amazed that we cannot collectively understand the concept that we are decimating the planet that sustains us. I want many green solutions but before we can even get there, we all must get a grasp on common sense. The most elemental animals and insects have the instinct and/or common sense to take care of their sustaining environment.

What is the human failing that makes for this terrible disconnect?

Its the love of weatlh, that is the failing we have. And we will do anything to get it, anything, well at least those of us inflicted with this ailment of the heart.

This whole thing just sickens me.
