Last Monday I went out to photograph birds at sunrise in a local wetland. It was a lovely morning with quite some birds. After a while, I noticed a bird of which I thought it was a Little Egret, but turned out to be a Spoonbill. I was pleasantly surprised, because I visit the wetland frequently, but I had never seen a Spoonbill there. The spoonbill was foraging and it didn't take long before it was just in the right place for a couple of attractive shots.

Great atmosphere Sandra. I like everything about it from the backlighting to the water droplets and from the low PoV to the colours. Floats my boat that one. eric
Now thats nice and what a pleasant surprise for you, the backlighting and well held exposure are great.... It is probably an optical illusion but could it do with a slight CW rotation?

Wonderful !

@ Phill: I noticed it myself as well. I'm not sure if it is an optical illusion but I'll try a slight CW rotation.

Great atmospheric shot, the bird is well placed in the image and the lighting is fantastic. The low POV really sets it off.
Brilliant surprise well captured.
