I took this last month whilst on a morning out with a ranger.
We were walking into a glade and as we turned the corner there was a roe deer standing in front of us.
We crouched down and crept forward, it started to cross the river and the ranger barked. The buck then stopped and I snapped this shot!
Very lucky to have it so sharp as it was handheld (using the ranger's shoulder as a tripod - LOL) on a 200-400mm f/4 Nikon lens which I'd hired for the week.
Hope you like it!

Well caught Will, placement of the deer in the frame works for me. However on here it doesn't look quite as sharp as it could. Perhaps a touch of sharpening to compensate for the compression?
Like this, perhaps if you give more details on your camera settings etc it would be easier to be constructive... as presented it looks like it could do with just a little more sharpening (always needed when reducing to a suitable size for posting as resizing always has a knock on perceived sharpness)
The looking back pose and setting are very nice....
Hi Will and Welcome to UKNP. This is a very nice image and it's great to see some of your work appearing on the forum
Doubtless you'll get some good technical advice from many of the more experienced photographers on here but, as I think I've told you before, at your young age don't get caught up in the so-called rules of photography - just rely on your natural creative skills and the shots will come

Oh, and welcome.
I like this. The stones beneath the body are an eye catcher but no big deal.
