Howdy all! So, taking advantage of the long weekend to clean out the shed and garage (yup, I know how to live it up). I came across several fuel containers for my Snowpeak camp stove, as well as a couple MSR containers full of white gas from the Whisperlight days. Several are labeled as being filled in 2002! Doh!

So, how do I dispose of them all properly and safely? Is there a recycle place that will take them perhaps? I want to keep the MSR containers of course, but dump the contents. Any advice would be appreciated. Have a safe weekend!

Dig a hole, fill it with newspaper and wood, dowse it with gasoline, throw in a lit match, let it get nice and hot, then just toss those puppies in and RUN LIKE HELL!

And don't forget to hit "record" on the video camera.

Most likely the county in which you live has a waste disposal center for citizens. They can take it. Of course there's always the burn-it option as well which is probably less damaging than light oil in our waterways.

Dump them all in your gas tank. After realizing we had a very (ahem, VERY) low tank of gas at Glacier Point following an extended backpack, I dumped in a gallon of white gas, and through a combination of coasting and judicious goosing the gas pedal, made it to the nearest station OK. It seemed to run fine...just don't tell your car dealer.
