Taken at a local venue which I am pleased to say seems to have a decent supply of these cute little fellas though the distances from them to me are a bit of a stretch.

Cracking John, a very different setting to the norm as well. One part of me thinks its a slight shame the flowers didn't extend to cover the water at the bottom right, but then the Vole is pointing towards the pool so it maybe it gives the image more purpose.
I think I would shave a little off the bottom, reducing the prominence of the water but still leaving enough that the water vole can be seen to be heading towards it.
A wonderful setting and quite different to what I have seen in the past with voles. I agree with Davids comment of cropping some from the bottom of the frame.
Thanks all for your feedback. Here's an alternative crop which reduces the presence of the water - I think your advice was spot on as this works much better than my original.
The water in the foreground would probably work quite well from another angle. I would be tempted to crop half of the image off on the right...either that or a good section from the bottom of the shot. I think the vole works really nicely in the small flowers and its good to see a different perspective of a vole for a change - a little bit of thought makes this simply smashing!
