Badlands and the Reef
Was in the Capitol Reef area for a few days and happend to be there by coincidence for Guy Tal's gallery opening. He has got some incredible work displayed, a must see if you're in the area.

Here's a few images and as always C&C welcome and thanks for looking.

Wow, dazzling stuff, Jeff! Quite the sky color in the first, and I really like the third one.

I think, like Tom Till's Moab gallery, Galen Rowell's in Bishop and Erik's Estes Park shop, Guy's gallery is going to be a required stop for any serious photographer who comes within a half-hour drive of the place.

These are all fantastic Jeff. I like the reds of the first and the yellows of the fourth. What a myriad of color.

Todd, you are dead on about a must see for Tal's gallery. I have to make plans to try to see his work in large print hanging on a wall. Can you imagine?
Great color, Jeff! And #3 and #2 are fantastic shots! the others are just as good, but those two really connect with me.

#3 is great, but I'd love to see #4 in a high contrast B&W!

Some fabulous work here, Jeff. I love 2, 3, and 4.

Another fan of #'s 2, 3 & 4, but they're all excellent images (esp. composition-wise).
#2 could really use a Levels adjustment as this version is pretty flat.

I love #1, that's one of my favorite views in the Southwest. Although it might be tad magenta on the color balance it's not too far off for my tastes. #4 is also really cool.

Love #3 in color. Like #4 comp wise, but looks a tad bit flat to me? Maybe increasing some shadows a tiny bit might add some depth? Nice images overall.

These are all nice but I'm a big fan of #2, especially with a little more contrast. Nice work, Jeff! :toast:

Jeff, thes are really fantastic! I like them all, but I think #2 is over the top great for me with #3 close behind. Excellent work!

Wow! Nice body of work, errr series.

Thanks for the input and comments folks.

John - I did rework #2 and give it a little boost in Levels. I wanted the colors to be kind of muted, but after 'sitting' on the image for another day I think the slight bump in Levels really helped.

Joshua - I think this is one of the top views as well. I initially was slightly concerned about the magenta, but then I look at the Navajo Sandstone domes in the center portion and I think they are just about right for the time of the evening so I left the foreground color remain. That stone is pretty red to begin with.

I really like the colors in #4.
