Well this is the only reasonable fox cub image that I have managed to get from many many hours of trying this spring. I didn't find the den site until these guys were quite well grown and every day that passes they are becoming more and more wary. This was taken on the same day as my shot of the vixen with a rabbit, probably the only succesful day I had (and even then technicalities conspired to spoil some images). One saturday I spent 9 hours in a hide and only saw one cub for two seconds! On another early morning session (5am)nothing showed at all and when I packed up and was leaving the hide I turned to see the vixen and a cub at the top of the hedge. They saw me, the cub vanished and the vixen ran across the top of the field barking at me. Now that is frustrating. Next year I shall be keeping a close eye on this earth from very early on.

Well observed and captured, I think a tad more DOF will have given you a little more detail in the cub. The image is sharp where it counts but the focus drops away very quickly beyond the head. That said, I think any image of Fox cub is a winner for the cuteness at least..
A pleasure to view Robert (especially since I haven't seen a fox for years). Nits covered re depth of field but good to see your time rewarded with a nice capture.
well done in your dedication . Image wise there is so much to like about it , the expression on the face and the comp . However POV , (slightly elevated ) and lighting lets it down.Keep at it I'm sure it'll come
Fox cubs have great eyes and you have caught them well here, I normally try to find 3 or 4 earths and then decide which is best when the cubs arrive, Time well spent
